Canadian Rhythms and Rocks
Born in Cape Town, South Africa, Jacquelyn Heller studied art at the University of Cape Town. She loves to inspire creativity in her students and has taught art, drama, media and English to all ages, both in South Africa and in Toronto. She continues to attend workshops and explore techniques in a variety of media and has participated in juried art exhibitions. Throughout her artistic life, she has explored many styles and media, finding constant inspiration in earth elements and natural surroundings from all over the world.
My latest series is an exploration of light and shadows, variations of colour and shape and the interplay between the solid state of rocks and the movement of water. I find that the tranquillity of these elements keeps me grounded and connected to the earth, and each environment I investigate offers me new inspiration.
